Playing games to earn: Is it even realistic to earn from them?

I have seen some sites that allow people to play games and earn money. They offer some very good payouts. I have seen some offer as much as $8 to play a game to a certain level. Do you think playing those games to earn money is realistic. I have tried to play those games and they are very difficult to play.

Yes I know people do play games to earn but I don't buy the idea because I know that it doesn't work for me
