High-risk investments promise high returns, but also carry the risk of high losses, even total capital loss. Risk and return are essentially directly proportional; the higher the risk, the higher the potential profit. High-risk investments such as stocks and crypto are often chosen to capitalize on price volatility, rather than relying on dividend distributions. These investors often choose tier 3 and 4 stocks, and IPO stocks.

Pros:
Fast capital growth from capital gains.
Smaller capital requirements.
Profits are generated within a short period of time, either daily or just a few days.

Cons:
The risk of loss is very high, making it unsuitable for all investors.
Extreme market volatility.
High uncertainty.
High stress levels.
Requires skill and experience.

I both invested in a short and long-term investments. My first investment was a long-term investment, 10 years, and it yielded a very good return. I was 17 when I invested in planting Bagrass Eucalyptus. My dad gave me a capital of $2000 for the seedlings and hired planters.

I think one of the major advantages of high risk investments is that you can make huge profits, but at the same time you could easily lose huge amounts as well.

That's the fundamental trade-off. The potential for immense gain is directly, and dangerously, proportional to the risk of total loss. It's the core equation.
