According to the report, on the 10th of September, Russia launched Ocean 2024, its largest naval exercise since the Cold War. Ocean 2024 was conducted over a week-long period and also saw the participation of China.
The re[ort said that over 400 warships were dispatched to the Arctic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, and Caspian Sea. During the drills, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and UK’s Foreign Secretary David Lammy visited Ukraine and met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv.
The report added that they pledged more military support for Ukraine. In return, Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened that if NATO allows Kyiv to strike deep into Russia then Moscow would also consider hitting NATO targets.
In addition to the report, the visit by Lammy to Ukraine during the Ocean 2024 exercise saw a stern reaction from Moscow. Putin sent warships and nuclear-capable TU-95 bombers over the English Channel as Putin’s aide Dmitry Medvedev threatened to sink Britain.
