Putin’s comments on energy security are striking. Personally, I think it reflects the centrality of energy in Russia’s global role. What surprises me is the emphasis on independence and sustainability. For me, the most important aspect is reliability—energy must remain a stable resource. I believe these policies will influence Europe and Asia alike. In the end, energy is not just fuel, it is leverage in geopolitics.
