Queen Máxima of the Netherlands was glowing on Tuesday as she visited the Philippines' Talim Island on the first day of her trip to the archipelago in southeastern Asia.

She was wearing a sporting a fluorescent life jacket to make the trip to Talim Island. The royal, 53, who is in the Philippines in her capacity as United Nations
Secretary-General's Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA). She smiled throughout the first engagement of her three-day visit.


She was dressed for the sunny weather in a patterned maxi dress and sandals. Queen Máxima looked stylish in a pair of large sunglasses with blue frames and a wide-brimmed straw hat.

One thing about Philippines and their culture is that you can't afford to dislike them. Phillipines have a culture of simplicity and beauty that makes everyone fall in love with them.

Thank you so much Mags. Our country is full of hospitable and friendly people. In the city alone where I live , Cagayan de Oro City, it's called the city of golden friendship.

The queen will come back anytime soon. She loves our food here and the climate. Those in winter spend their vacations in the Philippines.
