Religion and a more active role in society

There are some religions that will do anything they can to help people and the communities they live in, get the help they need to better improve things. Example being, providing food, clothing and other supplies when people are displaced from their homes.

Meanwhile, there are also other religions that don't believe in helping out others, except those in their immediate congregations, regardless of the events happening in their communities and around the world.

What do you think the role of religion should be, in regards to helping their communities out, and potentially in helping with getting care supplies to people in need around the world?

Religion to me is more of acproblem than solution. In some society where illiteracy is high, religion tends to cause more problem than solution. In Nigeria, where we have thousands of churches in every state, the level of corruption and impunity continues to rise.

Religion actually plays a very important role in the society today. There are so many people who have been able to learn good morals simply cause they belong to a particular religion, creating better citizens.
