New Delhi,December 26, 2025: The world of Urdu literature mourned the loss of iconic poet Wasim Barelvi, who passed away at his residence in Jamia Nagar this morning following a prolonged illness. He was 78. Known for his revolutionary (Inqilabi) poetry and soulful ghazals, Barelvi was a recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award. Chief Minister Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Saxena expressed condolences, praising his contribution to culture.
