Repairs Business: Should I separate workmanship fee from cost of equipment when pricing my services?

For businesses that deal with any kind of repairs, when a customer approaches you to help fix something, you most times would need to buy parts that are spoilt to replace. The other side of the billing is the workmanship fee of the repairer.

Should the workmanship fee and the cost of parts to be bought be merged together as a single fee or it should be separated when pricing your repairs services?
 
When you want to present workmanship fee separately, the customer would always want to bid workmanship fee down.
 
It depends on you, in a situation where you have to go and buy the things before you begin work, you can request for the money for buying the materials. We just fixed our generator and the repair man requested for money to buy the needed materials, after repairing the gen, he then requested for his workmanship.
 
I always separate the workmanship fee from the costs of materials in order not to end up cheating myself with a lump sum.
That's the way to go. So that you are sure of the amount you are charging for the two different things.
