According to the report, the Russian army on Sunday claimed to have captured two more villages in southern Ukraine, where its troops are slowly gaining ground against outnumbered Ukrainian forces.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said its troops had taken Rivnopillia and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

At that attack, the Russian troops outnumbered the Ukrainian troops, leading to their defeat and retreat.

The report added that fighting in areas like Pokrovsk weakens the Ukrainian troops; the Russian soldiers were more advanced.

Peace talks between Kyiv and Moscow are currently deadlocked, and a planned Budapest summit between US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin did not go ahead.

From my perspective, the situation in Ukraine remains very tense and complicated. It's understandable that each side wants to gain ground, but I also believe that escalating these kinds of confrontations only leads to more suffering and destruction. The news that Russia has seized more villages in the Zaporizhzhia region shows that they are advancing slowly but surely, which is worrying because it could lead to further displacement and loss of life. However, I also think that the possibility of negotiation should still be considered a viable option, even though it seems difficult right now. The lack of progress in the talks and the postponement of the summit in Budapest reflect that tensions are at their peak, and that ultimately only benefits those who prefer war to dialogue. I hope that channels for a peaceful solution can be opened at some point, but for now, the uncertainty continues.
