Russia wants talks with the United States and will include the subject of Ukraine,

Russia are ready to be in talks with the United States and they said the such conversations will be "comprehensive" and again it will include the subject of Ukraine.

But the U.S. are of the view that any negotiations over the war must be dependent on Ukraine and what it wants.The United States rejects Russia's contention that by arming Ukraine it has become a direct protagonist in a war aimed at inflicting a crushing "strategic defeat" on Moscow.

it is stster that the list of topics Russia and the United States need to discuss is long

Russia know that it's United States is the backbone of Ukraine and it will be difficult to run down Ukraine if United States continues to support them. Russia have receving humilating defeats all these while. Probably, Russia is trying to find a soft landing.
