According to the report, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met with Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 12 in St. Petersburg during the BRICS National Security Advisers’ meeting. The report said that Putin invited PM Modi to a bilateral meeting at the BRICS summit in Kazan on October 22. According to a statement from the Russian Embassy in India, Putin sought a bilateral with PM Modi to finalize various agreements that were reached during PM Modi’s two-day visit to Moscow and to outline prospects for the near future.

The report added that during their meeting, Putin also referred to PM Modi as a “good friend.”
