School Phone Ban: Would it lead to better grades by students?

UK high schools have already banned the usage of phones as instructed by the government. They say that phones serve as a distraction for students. Do you think banning phones in schools would lead to improved grades for students or it would have the opposite effects?

I don't think that banning phones in high schools would do much to curb the falling standards of education.

It is true that phones in schools tend to confuse the minds of many students. They spend their time browsing instead of studying, and concentration is completely lost. It is better for phones to be at home or used after class. If you give them free access in class, you will find students winning by playing social media and games instead of notes and assignments. Discipline decreases and performance is completely damaged, so it is wise to set strict rules.

Most of my friends that are teachers say they always seize phones from students who come with phones to schools.
