It's better to cancel, cause it means the seller is not straight forward, unless there is probably a legit reason as to why they took such action.
Are you sure you are not dealing with a scammer. The red flags here point in that direction. Let such a seller go.
Here, the buyer and seller usually sign a temporary agreement. Both parties need to stick to the terms and conditions including downpayment required, method of payment, the date of payment etc.
