Senior Nigerian police officers to protect protesters nationwide in the #EndBadGovernance protests

Kayode Egbetokun, The Inspector General of Police, , has directed senior police officers to protect protesters nationwide in the #EndBadGovernance protests

The protest is scheduled to take place from 1-10 August 2024.. The protection was a request by human rights lawyer, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN)
Adegboruwa had, on 28 July 2024, written to the police chief seeking police protection for protesters.

The police chief has instructed senior officers to comply with the senior lawyer’s request.

How could he protect the protesters if they would make trouble? If the protesters harm the police authorities, then that lawyer cannot expect a police being hit to smile and dance but let his gun dance on them.
