Should forums delete accounts that not active for a long period?

As a forum owner, I don’t believe in deleting accounts. I wouldn’t like if my account was deleted after years of building my account.
It's best too, we don't need to delete accounts and the perfect example would be forum coin. They don't delete accounts or forfeit earnings even if the user does not return for decades

I own a forum and I don't delete users, even those not any more active since years. I don't see the need. I only ban people who break the rules/roundly spammers and bad tempered/flamers. Out of the mentioned behaviour, I don't bother at all if users post once each couple of years 😁

The thing is that inactive accounts can consume valuable server resources and slow down the forum's overall performance.
It really doesn’t. Inactive accounts don’t take up that much server space.

The main thing that slows down a server is poorly optimized server resources.

Because if I signup on website and come to it after 1 year and find my account deleted, i will never signup again to go to shop.

Even in the case there isn't a shop where to purchase (many forums haven't a shopping section), I won't recommend to delete inactive accounts. My forum doesn't sell anything, but in any way I never delete inactive users. The only reason I ban users occurs when they seriously violate the forum rules.

I don't think it is right to delete a verified account on a forum because of inactivity. It might hurt members when they want to return and can't find their accounts any longer.
Yes, obviously: deleted accounts can lead to sadness or discouragement of excluded members. In addition, if you don't want an empty forum, it's not that big deal to delete inactive accounts, hindering the old members' return. The owners of the deleted accounts may complain they were excluded, so discouraging other people to join.

They will not sign up again and you may lose important old customers that may do an order after while of absence.

My forum doesn't sell anything. It's a simple forum where to promote our pay to programs and apps and recruit referrals. In addition, it's located in my former country and I don't live there. In any way, despite my forum having nothing to do with commerce, I don't want to upset users. It costs me nothing to maintain inactive users' profiles.
