Should freedom of expression have limits or be absolute?

Freedom of expression must have limits, as there are cases in which it can cause irreparable harm to individuals or groups, such as insult, slander, defamation, hate speech, incitement to violence, etc. Do you believe that freedom of expression should be regulated or protected? How would you define the limits of freedom of expression?
