It is true that a person can just see someone and not just like the person. Bring it to a business owner that is trying to employ a staff.

If a candidate comes to apply, and he or she has all the technical qualifications but the business owner doesn't just like him or her. Is that a valid reason to turn down that candidate?

I don't think it's a valid reason cause at the end of the day, your business has an identity of it's own. So if there is no valid reason why you don't like this person, as long as you know they will greatly benefit the business, you have to employ them.

There's nothing wrong with that. Provided you are sure that the person would automatically fit into the job

It is most times important to go for the one that has the potential to deliver not just liking the person
