South Africa's state power utility, Eskom, reported a net profit of R24.3 billion for the six months ending September 2025 a 37% year-on-year increase. More significantly for daily life, it delivered consistent energy with only four days of load-shedding during that period, achieving an electricity supply reliability of 98%. Cabinet credited this to the utility's recovery plan and structural reforms.
