Spain needs a lot of truck drivers – like, 30,000 drivers a lot! So, they're thinking about hiring people from Turkey to fill those jobs.
The thing that really gets me is the shortage of workers in the first place. It's pretty wild to think about how countries go all over the world to find people for jobs. I didn't know the trucking situation in Spain was so bad. Thirty thousand is a huge number. I think it's super important that those new drivers get really good training. You can't just put anyone behind the wheel of a big rig! Ultimately, I think that the shipping and delivery business is being required to change. With shortages like these, it has no other choice. They have to think outside the box or things will get even worse. This will probably have great outcomes for the economy.
