Static Home Page or Recent Post on Home Page

Do you like to create a static page as your home page or do you like displaying your latest posts on your home page. Well, I depending on the type of website I have, I switch between static page and latest posts. For example, on my blog I always have latest posts on the home page, on my portfolio website, I have static page.
