The Swedish capital had a record just a half hour of sunlight in the first half of December 2025, put it on track for the darkest December since 1934.
Sweden, like the rest of Nordic countries, is accustomed to long dark winters with short days and longer nights due to their northern location. Other parts of Sweden have fared better in this December with the southeastern town of Karushralo having registered the most sunlight in the country so far at 12 hours.
And yet the sun keeps punishing people in the tropics!
