According to the report, parts of the French overseas territory of Mayotte were still ruined on Wednesday (December 18) days after Cyclone Chido ripped through the archipelago on Saturday (December 14).
The report said that Chido was the strongest storm to hit Mayotte, lying in the Indian Ocean, in more than 90 years, French weather service Meteo said. Hundreds are feared dead, but only 22 fatalities have been recorded in the hospitals.
That is a devastating cyclone Chido. I hope that many were saved and the cyclone left the area of responsibility. It was a deadly cyclone. The poor people suffer a lot and many will be homeless because of the flash flood.
