According to the report, a student was removed from Williamstown Independent Schools on Friday morning for bringing a gun to campus.
The report also stated that in a message to families, Superintendent John Slone said he was told that a student may have a weapon on campus. Police were called, and the district was put on lockdown. During a search, the gun was found.
In addition to the report, Slone says there's no ongoing threat to safety. He did not say which school the student attended or if the student was arrested. He messaged students families to inform them that no killing occurred in school and the student bringing a gun was removed. He said the situation is being handled swiftly and thoroughly in accordance with district policy and in full cooperation with local authorities.
