I do not have a doubt that you also witness a tactic in cashiering. I have been observing this and sometimes I feel disgusted or irritated but when I absorbed myself into business, I realized that it is called a tactic. What I notice is a cashier in a mall or big store instead of giving us the change in coins, for example, it is converted into candies or a sachet of coffee. It seems a double way of marketing. I also noticed the sweet smile of the cashier it seems another tactic for a customer not to feel angry. The business owner is so wise that even the change becomes theirs. Have you also noticed this in your place?

Tactic in cashiering is always observed in my peace and the market vendors are now following the same instead of giving the change they lured the customer to swap the change to another vegetable. For me, it is not good. This is cheating in my opinion.

Lol, mate that's the marketing gimmicks so that you leave all your money with them. They would deliberately tell you no change to have you buy another thing with the change
But there were times that I never accepted a candy he he, I forced them to give me the change no matter how small, to punish them for their wrong cashiering. We are deducted a huge VAT, and here comes their tactic that is so obvious money-making in wrong way,

Usually, when I pay at the cashier, the staff will tell me they have promotion for some other products and ask if I am interested. If I find the product interesting, I'll buy. The cashier in some way has become a sales. lol.

Some cashiers are trained to manipulate the interests of the customers. They can indeed lure the customers. And that's business, lol.

Yes sometimes I do same especially when I'm low on cash and want to have my change to buy another thing.

There are times our moods are like that, though it is like a tease to satisfy our mood he he. When I am inspired, I do not even claim my change, lol.
