Taiwan detects 45 Chinese planes in 24 hours

Taiwan reported that 45 Chinese aircraft were detected near the island over a 24-hour period on Thursday. This followed a day when Taiwan condemned China’s live-fire military exercises in the south, the highest number this year. In addition to 45 Chinese aircraft, 14 warships were sighted near the island. China issued a threat to use force to seize Taiwan, claiming the island as its own territory. China conducted live-fire military exercises with warships and aircraft approximately 74 kilometers south of Taiwan on Wednesday, prompting condemnation from Taiwan as a dangerous violation of international norms. China's foreign ministry refused to comment on Wednesday.
