The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly threatening to k!ll his father.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Timfon John, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 said operatives swiftly responded to a distress call from a man (name withheld) of Ikot Imoh village, reporting that his son, Ubong Friday Benson, had barricaded himself and was threatening to k!ll him with a dagger.

“The complainant further stated that the suspect had previously threatened to shoot him with a locally made pistol, which he habitually concealed in a nearby bush,” the statement read.

"Upon receiving the report, a team was immediately mobilized to the scene, leading to the successful arrest of the suspect, Ubong Friday Benson.

“During the course of interrogation, the suspect confessed to possessing the firearm and subsequently led the police team to a bush where the alleged locally made pistol was recovered.”

Thank God they took action on time cause am very sure he would have carried out that threat one of these days.

Another son wanting to kill his father. Thankful he didn't prosper in his plan. He committed a frustrated murder. He will be jailed for many years. When he comes out no parents will accept him.

Thank God that the police acted very fast. Now, chuldren kill their parents, girlfriends, wives and other children for trivialities or ritual purposes. We are living in terrible times!

One factor why some children gone astray is drug addiction. Drugs are trafficked anywhere in the world and the idiots people are easily tempted. There's no future for people like them. All that's in their minds is kill whoever the person would be.
