The Bayelsa State Police Command has confirmed the death of a young girl whose lifeless body was discovered in a hotel room in the Igbogene area of Yenagoa, the state capital.

According to local residents, the deceased had checked into the hotel with a young man suspected to be an internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a "yahoo boy." Eyewitness accounts suggest the man left the hotel shortly after they checked in, leaving the girl behind.

The hotel management reportedly found the body of the young woman hours later and promptly alerted authorities at the Igbogene Divisional Police Headquarters.
