A corporate kind of business in my city demands that their staff should be the ones to clear the grass in the business premises. The staff say that the business should pay labourers to clear the grass. Is the business right or the staff are right?

The company should pay someone specifically to clean the lawn, as this task shouldn't be the direct responsibility of staff with other duties. It's only fair that specialized work be adequately compensated to ensure quality and motivation.

Am very sure the employer never told them about this when they applied for the job in the first place.
I am very certain of that. Those employers are always trying to exploit the unemployment situation in the country to make their staff look helpless. helpless

In cases like this it is very wrong, like you said the employer is simply trying to exploit them. If on their own they decide to do it or it was stated when applying for the job, then that's a different case.

If that was not clearly spelt out in the contract of employment, I won't dare do it. Unless I just feel like helping the organization.

A lot of employers like to do this in bid to save money. They need to pay others to do the work
That's not right. And the more funny thing is that they don't even consider extra pay for corporate staff for doing that.
