Nepotism, the practice of favoring in job hiring, can significantly undermine meritocracy within organizations. It often leads to less qualified candidates being chosen over more deserving individuals, hindering overall competence. This results in decreased employee morale and productivity, as feelings of unfairness prevail among the workforce.

Nepotism stifles diversity and innovation by limiting the pool of talent and perspectives considered. It can create a culture of favoritism, where personal connections outweigh professional skills.

Furthermore, it damages the company’s reputation, both internally and externally, eroding trust and credibility. Hence, nepotism compromises organizational effectiveness and long-term success.

Favoritism at work kills morale of truly capable employees. Instead of finding smart people, find yourself surrounded by people who don't know their roles. situation holds back progress and kills creativity in the office.

This Nepotism issue usually happens in government offices, establishments, or corporations. At the university where I work, there are many workers relatives, mother-daughter, father-son, and in-laws. There is one almost 88 years old but still working, and her daughter is the head of the department, so she can retain her very old mom. It is very unfair and dirty.

Nepotism can create a toxic work environment and lead to resentment among coworkers. This can result in low morale and poor job performance.
That's right, just like at my workplace there are employees relatives by the University President, VP, and Deans, so those are not skilled. Students petition them, Nepotism won't thrive in the academe, It's the students who kick them through bad evaluation.

In the internet sector here, nepotism levels are very high, and many powerful people are getting government jobs for their housewife, and other relatives, associates faking online income, domain ownership using the robbed data of the real domain investor.
