The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Monday, September 16, 2024, a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, the celebration of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad .
The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the ministry.

Minister Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to the Muslim Ummah, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, as they mark this special occasion.

Nigerians don't need piblic holidays. Nigerians needs food and security. If the government can't provide us with these basic amenities, they should resign and give other people chance to right their numerous mistakes.

Lol we are already having too much public holidays as it is. But at the end of the day, no reasonable thing to write home about.
