The signing ceremony in Abuja was presided over by the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, who described the support as a timely and generous intervention to address urgent humanitarian needs in flood-affected communities.
“This gesture reflects the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and China, built on mutual respect, cooperation, and a shared vision for sustainable development,” the Minister said.

The Federal Government of Nigeria signed an Exchange of Notes agreement with China to receive a $1 million grant to support relief operations following the recent floods in northern Nigeria. The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning emphasized that this assistance reflects the cooperation and mutually respectful relationship between the two countries, and assured that the funds will be managed transparently to benefit the affected communities.

All the time, Nigeria is receiving assistance from other countries of the world but hardly give others! It is a pity we are always on receiving end . Nigeria is super blessed and should stop presenting the country as poor and needy.
