The first man to receive a pig kidney transplant dies

There's a report that the first man to get a genetically modified pig kidney transplant has died. Richard "Rick" Slayman, 62, has died.two months after the operation.

The operation was carried out at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in March and he died on May 12th But for now there was no indication his death was a result of the transplant.

Mr Slayman, was suffering from end-stage kidney disease, has been hailed as a historic milestone.

Usually it can work for a few weeks but then his body rejected it it's very hard to make it work I believe so it's not surprising that he passed away
