According to recent reports, New Zealand and the Philippines began discussions on Wednesday to reach an agreement that would allow them to station military soldiers on each other's territory. This measure is in response to rising fears about maritime tensions with China. Manila intends to boost its defense ties in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond, owing to China's growing assertiveness in its claims to the South China Sea. The first round of negotiations was held in Manila on Thursday, bringing together the defense departments of both countries.

The Prime Minister of New Zealand was already here in the Philippines months ago to discuss about collaborations with President Marcos. Hopefully, our country has many allies but let's pray China will be enlightened to stop their harassmentes to the West Philippine Sea.
