Ike Turner Jr., the son of music legends Tina Turner and Ike Turner Sr., has passed away at the age of 67.

According to TMZ, Tina’s niece, Jacqueline Bullock, confirmed that Ike Jr. died on Saturday at a Los Angeles hospital due to kidney failure. She revealed that he had been battling severe heart problems for years and recently suffered a stroke in early September.

Born in 1958 to Ike Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr. was later adopted by Tina Turner and grew up surrounded by music and fame as his parents dominated the industry in the ’60s and ’70s.

Following Tina’s separation from Ike Sr., Ike Jr. briefly worked with his mother as her sound engineer before going his own way.

He was one of four children connected to the iconic pair, though he mostly lived a private life away from the spotlight in later years.

His father, Ike Turner Sr., passed away in 2007, and his mother, Tina Turner, died in 2023.

Ike Turner Jr. was 67.

What sad news. Ike Turner Jr.'s life was marked by music, but also by many personal and health difficulties. We sometimes forget that being the son of two legends doesn't always mean having an easy life; on the contrary, it can be an enormous burden growing up under so much fame and expectations. It gives me some comfort to know that, despite everything, he managed to forge his own path, albeit with a much more discreet profile. Music seemed to be in his DNA, and working with his mother must have been a very meaningful experience for him. Sadly, health problems plagued him for years, and in the end, his body couldn't take it anymore. I hope he finds rest with his parents. The Turner family's story has always been filled with talent, love, pain, and resilience, and he was part of that legacy that will never be forgotten.
