Compared to LCD monitors, LED monitors are more fragile and likely to break. Has anyone transported their LED monitor over a longer distance? If yes what precautions were taken to prevent damage?

No, sorry, I have not experienced that maybe some members here. LED monitors are indeed fragile, you need to hire someone good in handling them to the destination.
I managed to transport the monitor myself in a backpack. I filled the backpack with clothes which cushioned the monitor, and it was not damaged at the destination.
For me l think that with good transportation the LED monitors can arrive safely to any destination of your choice. However extra care should be exercised when handling that.

They normally pad them with very soft foams and cases to protect the screen, that's how they are able to transport them through long distance.
