According to the report, a trial date has been set for Shannon Gilday, the Taylor Mill man accused of shooting his way into the home of a former Kentucky lawmaker and killing his daughter Jordan Morgan.

The report stated that Morgan died in the gunfire at the family's mansion in Richmond. A judge ruled there wasn't enough evidence regarding Gilday's mental health at the time of the shooting to disqualify the death penalty and set a trial date for May 1 of next year.

Morgan's loved ones expressed frustration over the lengthy legal delays and acknowledged that the trial would be difficult.

Gilday's trial was expected to last a month. The court must gather enough evidence that the murderer was not mentally ill and that he intentionally killed Morgan.

This case is truly shocking and prompts profound reflection on justice and mental health. Personally, I feel that the delay in the trial reflects the complexities within the justice system and the importance of carefully evaluating Gilday's mental state. Jordan Morgan's death, in a violent act, reminds us of the gravity of crimes and the need for due process to ensure justice is served. The family's frustration is understandable, as the delay prolongs their pain and uncertainty. The decision to proceed with the trial and determine Gilday's mental competence demonstrates a commitment to fairness and rigor in the justice system. In my opinion, cases like this confront us with the complexity of balancing justice, mental health, and reparations for victims—something that must always be prioritized to guarantee a just and humane system.

This criminal might have a hidden hatred to the former judge. He might have a relative prosecuted verdicted from this judge. However it's the reason why kill. This criminal didn't realize his motive that could lead him to sentence to death.

This news is heartbreaking. Young Jordan Morgan died of an unforgivable gunshot wound to the head at his parents' home. The perpetrator, Gilday, is awaiting trial next year.

It is a great injustice for his relatives to have to wait so long for justice. They are hurting but they must endure another trial that will take their emotional toll.

The judge has said there was no evidence of mental illness at the time of the murder. This means that more severe legal action can be taken against him.

The proverb says that a sinner never stops coughing. God's justice always prevails. All those involved in this case mourn in brotherhood and pray for God to give them patience. At the end of the day, justice will be done for the one who was killed and the grief will be relieved for the ones left behind.
