Experts warn Trump may intervene militarily in Mexico against cartels. For me, the most relevant aspect is sovereignty. Personally, I think it’s alarming how intervention is considered. What surprises me is the bluntness of analysis. For me, the most important step is diplomacy. In the end, I believe this possibility raises serious regional concerns

The USA already intervened the drug cartels in Mexico. In fact Maduro was already arrested. The USA is the target market of the drug cartels from Mexico and this was gradually and partially eliminated by the FBI DEA, ICE, US Navy, Coastguards and police forces. Trump hates drugs.

Honestly, sovereignty is just a theoretical concept when you're dealing with a power that sees cartels as weapons of mass destruction. Diplomacy seems pretty outdated at this point
