For my part, I rule out the possibility that the Pope can fix the shooting issue. To solve this, there are two options: either they put stricter requirements on gun ownership or they take them away. But as long as they continue providing guns to the average American, there will always be shootings. Violence exists everywhere, to a greater or lesser extent, but it exists, and as long as Americans have completely free access to guns, every time they argue, they will resolve everything with gunfire. So, I don't think the Pope will be able to do anything about this.

As long as all embrace peace and fear in God there will be no more shooting. People especially the young ones don't fear God. Most people there do not believe in God so they are not afraid to kill. The best thing solution is to include religion in their schools curriculum to aware the youths that killing is a mortal sin. Though it seems hard but it might be through the American Pope where youths will be guided accordingly through believing God Almighty.
