According to the report, Ukraine has been accused by Russia of training an assassin in Kyiv and promising him £22,000 to kill one of Vladimir Putin’s top spy chiefs. Lyubomir Korba, 65, has allegedly confessed to being recruited by Ukrainian authorities before attempting to kill Lieutenant General Vladimir Alexeyev, 64, Moscow claims.

The report said that Kyiv has said it had nothing to do with the attack and has dismissed Russia’s claims as unsubstantiated, with Ukrainian officials pointing out that no independent evidence has been made public.
