According to the report, on January 25, 2025, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed that Yemen's Houthi rebels had detained seven UN staff members.

The report said that In response, the UN suspended staff movement in Houthi-controlled areas due to rising humanitarian concerns. Guterres demanded the immediate release of the workers, emphasizing that detaining aid staff impedes efforts to assist millions in need.
