According to the report, the US State Department has cleared a potential $200-million sale to the UK for additional Navy Multiband Terminals (NMT).

This move expands London’s ability to connect through the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite network. RTX Corporation is listed as the primary contractor.

The report also stated that Britain’s request covers six more AEHF NMTs, folding them into a previously approved case that included two systems worth just over $41 million. With the new notification, the package now totals eight terminals designed to give the Royal Navy hardened, high-data-rate links for strategic communications.

The report added that outlined in the US government’s filing, the proposal includes crypto devices, submarine high-data-rate masts, test and integration support, spares, training, documentation, and a slate of government and contractor services intended to carry the Royal Navy through installation and sustainment.

These systems are expected to be fitted to the UK’s new Dreadnought-class submarines, enhancing connectivity with sites, ships, and other underwater assets in non-contested environments.
