According to the report, the United States said Friday that Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo promised to work to ease tensions and recommitted to a peace agreement, which has failed to halt violence.

The report also stated that two neighbors signed an agreement in Washington in June after Rwandan-bac of the Rwandan-backed mineral-rich and long-turbulent east of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The report also said that US President Donald Trump has repeatedly boasted of the DRC-Rwanda agreement, counting the conflict as one of several wars he has ended, and said it opens the way for the United States to secure minerals critical to advanced technologies.

In a meeting in Washington, the two sides recognized lagging progress and committed to redoubling efforts to implement the Washington Peace Agreement, said a joint statement issued by the US State Department.

In addition to the report, the Parties reaffirmed their commitment to refrain from hostile actions or rhetoric, particularly political attacks or language that would undermine or complicate the full implementation of the Peace Agreement, including in international fora,” the statement said.

It also said that the two countries signed the full text of a previously agreed economic agreement.

The news about Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) attempting to revive their peace agreement in Washington seems like a good sign, although many doubts remain. The history of these countries in conflict shows that agreements often remain only on paper, and the reality on the ground continues to be complicated. It is positive that they have reaffirmed their commitment and signed an economic agreement, but the important thing will be to see if they actually take concrete and sustainable steps. The mention that the United States is interested in minerals critical for advanced technologies also reflects how economic interests sometimes seem to carry more weight than peace and stability in the region. I hope that this time they will manage to make progress toward peace, but history has taught us to be cautious. Peace in that area is crucial, but it requires firm action and real commitment.

Hoping US President Trump can help ease tensions between Rwanda and Dr Congo. The conflicts of these two countries were rooted in the past years and there seems no exit. President Trump helped many warring countries ease their tensions and ends their war , except on the case of Putin , won does not like to end the war with Ukraine.
