According to the report, the US has imposed more sanctions on the Russian media network, RT. The US has called RT an "Entity with Cyber Capabilities" to justify its latest crackdown.

The report said that Washington is also urging its allies to ban RT. India has reportedly been asked to ban the Russian network. New Delhi has allegedly refused to comply with Washington's request.

Many asked: What happened to America's much-vaunted defense of "Free Speech"? Will it be okay to follow the order?

There's two things that are true here....
(1) RT (Russia Today) is not a news channel; it is a propaganda arm of the Kremlin.
(2) India has the right to conduct its' own affairs w/out interference from other countries.

India was right to refuse our requests for them to ban RT: what I would hope is that Modi's government does the right thing here and bans RT themselves. Us trying to strongarm them only makes RT out to be the victim here and was at best, hamhanded on the U.S.'s part.

Maybe they have their reasons, Russia Today has been able to spread messages that the Indian government has not liked, but equally, I am not in favor of censorship in any way.
