When Maduro got arrested, it stirred up a lot of feelings with Venezuelans living here in Finland. What really hit me was how it sparked a sense of hope. It's amazing, isn't it? Even being so far away, across the world, doesn't seem to lessen the strong feelings people have about what's happening back home.
But something that also caught my eye was how much people seem to be counting on others to fix the problems, on solutions from outside the country. I get it to a degree, but I think the real key and main thing, the thing we really need to focus on, is making sure things are stable.
I just feel like at the end of the day, what you see happening in Finland and the discussions and opinions people have, it is kind of like a smaller versions of the world. We're all dealing with the same big questions and issues, just in different ways and at different scales.
