When a programmer intentionally creates a programme which damages other programmes, the totality of the programmes are called computer viruses. Computer viruses infect the host programmes by attaching a copy of themselves or by over-writing or modifying the host programmes.
Regrettably, it has been discovered that the unethical behaviour of virus writing is perpetrated mostly by some youngsters for fun in order to cause inconveniences to the users of the system to attack and for recognition purposes among their peers.
Some of the problems cause by virus attack or invasions are:-
*} It disturbs the operations of the system.
*} Low productivity
*} The system user find it's operations irritating and losses interest in it.
*} The data sorted in the system are wiped off and lost irretrievably.
To protect a computer system against the attack or invasion of virus, the measures to take are:-
1)install anti-virus software
2)use a consistent email policy
3) prohibit the use of unauthorized software.
4) Educate the user on how to avoid virus attack.
