According to the report, a Walmart employee struck his coworker with his car in the store's parking lot, killing her, after getting drunk during his lunch break.
The report stated that officers with the San Antonio Police Department were dispatched to a Walmart location at around 11 p.m. on April 29, 2024, for a report of a woman who had been hit by a car.
Investigators arrived and found 49-year-old Margaret Ureste unresponsive in the parking lot. She was immediately taken to a hospital, and she passed away days later on May 1. She was a mother of three.
In addition to the report, officers also found Gabriel Rosas, 20 years old at the time, at the scene and questioned him. They soon learned that the young man "had consumed alcohol during his lunch break. The criminal was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.
