A viable team makes a business have a high chance of success. Some businesses are lucky to have very sound and good teams. But through the action of the leader, such a team can be watered down to become non functional.

What are the possible actions that a business team leader can do and it would affect the morale and performance of the team?

A business leader who finds it really hard to communicate and work with the team would definitely discourage how the team works or even their passion to work on new projects.

A business leader who doesn't listen to the staff's opinion discourages his/her staff tremendously.
Some business leaders are very insensitive to understand that their staff should also have a voice in the running of the business.

Nothing kills work force like treating humans like animals. Once the leader of any group fails to acknowledge and respect workers, the morale of workers will get cold and weaken. A leader is a person who respects anybody that is working under him and treat him fairly.

When the boss doesn't listen to the staff, it's like a samurai training alone without a dojo. That move lowers morale and people sit like sakura petals falling without strength. Leadership should be a lantern lighting the way. Every ninja feels valued. When you have fairness, the team runs like a bullet train without stopping. Unity becomes pure. When you are well organized, every staff member works like a sharp katana.

When a business owner verbally abuses a staff, the morale of the entire team is down. And they would not likely perform optimally.
When a business owner starts yelling and belittling staff, the spirit of the entire team drops like spilled water. No one is left motivated. Everyone feels useless and work becomes as heavy as carrying stones on their heads. Such a situation kills morale and performance drops like a car stuck in the mud.

It's like the story of Pandora when she opened the box and all the bad things came out. The boss's harsh words become like evil spirits coming out of the box and surrounding the office. Everyone is left with sadness and fear instead of strength and cohesion. The team lacks light and work remains in complete darkness.

That's what Indian businesses do over here. And they always get the results of such bad treatment of staff with many staff leaving the organization like ghosts.
