What are the Differences Between Spot Trading and Futures Trading Crypto?

In the world of crypto trading, I often hear/read the terms spot trading and future trading, unfortunately I don't understand the meaning, purpose and differences, so can you explain to me and other DBucks members,
What are the differences between crypto futures trading and spot trading?
Which is More Profitable, Spot or Futures?

In my understanding, spot trading have to do with immediate market price difference while future trading have to do trading that will occur in the future. In future trading, a trader enter into market with the present price and ends the trade maybe end of month. Future trading tends to hedge against future price fluctuations! Therefore if price go against the seller, it will not affect the seller because the trade was contracted at a specific period at a particular price.

In spot trading you can only buy and sell the cryptocurrency, nothing more, in futures trading you can open long or short operations and multiply the money you earn if your price prediction is correct based on the leverage you use, so you earn much more in futures, but you must know trading for that, because if not you will only lose money, let's say spot trading is the initial level, level 1, on the other hand futures trading is level 5 or the most expert level, where obviously you will earn more because you are already really trading and not just a simple exchange

For me l am not conversantly about the two contradicting terms. However they are very alike but performs different functions for sure.
