What could make an eatery business to fail and close down?!

My close friend had set up an eatery business in a very good location in the centre of town. He invested so much to make the business to stand out. But as it stands now, the business has closed down and he can't understand why.

What are the possible reasons a well funded eatery can close down?
 
If the location is right, the problem might be the food served to diners aren't what they liked. Another is cleanliness and ventilation. There. might be other factors like services. The staff might be rude or lacking manners.
 
Some of the reasons includes
1. Doing business in location that is not strategic
2. Tasteless foods
3. High cost of foods
4. Poor customer relations
5. Poor management
I think these five points can't make eatery to become bankruptcy.
 
The quality and price of the food may affect the business of eateries. On a macro level, if the economy is not good, people tend to eat at home rather than dining outside. In my city, may eateries are closing down because the economy is not well and people nowadays like to go to Shenzhen which is near my city to eat and dine as well as find entertainment. The price of food and products are cheaper there.
