What do you think can help people avoid comparison spending?

There are people that are just spending money simply because they are comparing themselves with another person. They would buy the things the other person own even when they don't really need them.

What do you think can really keep someone from engaging in comparison spending?

It's a matter of personality. Some people just like to compare themselves with others. And that includes spending.

When people are confident in themselves without always seeking external validation, they won't be doing comparison spending.

For me, anyone that is balanced mentally and is not unnecessarily emotional won't engage in comparison spending. Only emotional people do that.

Of course, we often encounter people who buy things similar to what others buy even though they don't actually need them, especially those who live in the same complex as the same institution. We know these people as shopaholics, who either don't want to be outdone or simply want to show off that they have the financial means to buy the same items.

That's simple stop trying to meet up with the Joneses. You live your life on your own terms that's just it

One just has to be independent minded to be able to escape comparison purchases. Anyone that is not independent mentally would always spend money because another person has spent.

The only thing that can prevent this is to be content with whatever you have or wherever you find yourself.
